Does a dark/black background photo save battery on iPhone 6?

I heard the background color only matters if your device has LCD rather than LED screen display. Does iPhone 6 have LCD or LED?

Thats what they say for any phone. I'm not exactly how much battery it saves tho

Like all other phones and most modern TVs,
it has an LCD screen that is backlit by LEDs.

LCDs use hardly any energy at all.
LEDs use some.

No matter whether the screen is dark or bright,
if you're actively using the thing, the LEDs are on.
They will go off if you stop using the phone for a while,
and they will come back on when you do something to trigger them.

An exception is a TV that has "local dimming".
Phones don't do that.

  • When I save a photo for a Contact profile on my iPhone does that person see the photo? I saved a photo of my friend falling off of his bike as the image in my contacts. It's a very funny picture. However, I don't want him to text someone and for that picture to be subscribed to his number so other people can see it. Can someone tell me if I'm just being stupid, or if that is actually the case?
