Does apple go through your Iphone? What do they do to damaged Iphones?

I have the Iphone 5s with a cracked screen. Everything works except the crack doesn't let me touch/swipe the screen. Apple can give me a new Iphone 5s for 120$ ( I believe). I just gotta turn in the damaged one. Now I have pictures in the damaged phone but I can't delete them cause of the crack. I was wondering If I send the damaged one. Does apple look through your stuff? Even though the pictures aren't bad or anything. But still. It just makes me uncomfortable lol.

No they will just reboot it and erase everything

Here's a cheaper solution, find a 3rd party fix it service, and ask them to install a new digitizer, then, you don't lose any valuable data and you save a couple of bucks. That's all, all you need is a digitizer, and you phone will work again. Simple as that. If you are technical, or know someone, you can even install a digitizer yourself! So, that's what i would personally do, since getting a new phone up to speed is quite, annoying for me. However, i'm sure you can delete everything from your iPhone from your iTunes account. If that makes you feel better. And if you really want the new phone, apple is not allowed to look through your stuff, technically, they can look through you stuff just by looking at your account, they have that kind of power, but they don't, cause it's an invasion of privacy. So unless you have sketchy business, then you should be fine.

So, in short, you can find a 3rd party service to replace your digitizer for less than $120, or you can just factory reset your iPhone from iTunes. If you don't want to factory reset, apple should not invade your privacy, and i'm sure that they don't.

They wipe it for you and scrap it.

  • When I return my iphone 4 to the apple store do they go through the messages? A few days ago the sleep/wake button on my iphone 4 has been stuck and really hard to push down I was wondering if when you turn in the phone do they wipe everything off of your phone? And do they go through messages and stuff? I'm just wondering I've got nothing to hide and I'm a good kid. So just wondering and also the new phone they give you is it refurbished or a completely brand new one thanks for all of the answers in advance, Tanner
  • My aunt and uncle have the same Apple ID. I think they need separate ones, do they? I've told them to get separate ones in the event that they need to back up their phones or get new ones. Don't they need separate ones? They hardly back up their phones or hook up their iPhones to the computer.
  • IPhone 6 - Will your call go through headphones if they re plugged in? If someone calls you or you want to listen to voicemail and you re wearing headphones, will you be able to hear them with the headphones or do you need to unplug them and actually put it to your ear like you normally would?
  • If you update your iPhone 4S to 6.0.1 through Wi-Fi, does it erase all your data? I have updated to 6.0 before on my laptop in iTunes, but strangely it didn't erase all my data, so I didn't have to back up. I didn't see it automatically back up during the process of updating, so I was wondering if it would erase all my iPhone data if I updated it through Wi-Fi. A few months before, when I updated to 5.1.1 it erased all my data. I'm not sure if Apple did anything to 6.0 that made it not erase my data…
