Does cricket require a change in apn settings for iphone 4?

I've done a lot of research but please correct me if i'm wrong. I have recently bought an Iphone 4 off CL, and i'm trying to get onto straight talk. People are telling me that with straight talk you are able to talk and text all you want, but there's no data (since it is an Iphone) I have also heard that if you jailbreak your iphone and change the APN settings you can get the data working. But i have also heard about this "cricket" prepaid service, claiming they are the only ones that carry prepaid iphones. Are these Iphones they sell different from others or can i use cricket on an AT&T Iphone? If i can use an AT&T phone with cricket do i still have to change my APN settings? Please help! I'm supposed to meet a guy at 10:30 tonight to buy another Iphone for my mom, but i don't want to if i wasted my money on mine.

  • Will it erase my apn settings if i update to ios 7 on net10? As most net10 users know you have to re-enter the APN settings to get mms and Internet on the iPhone. (As well as others. IPhone just makes it more difficult. Lol.) If I were to update to iOS 7 would that mess with them? Or would it stay the same and still continue to work? I want to update but I use mms and Internet a great deal.
  • What should my APN settings be? I have an unlocked AT&T iPhone 4 on the Straight Talk plan. I've changed my APN settings, and everything works except sending pictures to non iPhone users. I can send texts to them, but not pictures. Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Let me know, thank you!
  • What settings will it change if I press reset all settings on my iPhone? Also, will this help speed up my iPhone because that's what I've heard. Because my iPhone has been so slow lately and taking like 3-5 minutes to send 1 text. If you know of any other ways that could help speed that up please also let me know that.
