Does FaceTime affect data usage on an iPhone?
I just got a iPhone 4, and I have unlimited texting, and calling, but I have limited data usage. Facetime is what I use ALOT. And I didn't know if that would effect my usage or not.
If done over Wi-Fi (which may be the only way), it won't affect 3g data caps or usage.
You can only use facetime over Wi-Fi i think so it doesn't affect data usage, just make sure whenever you use facetime it is on Wi-Fi not 3g network…
No, it won't affect your bill. Done over free Wi-Fi, it's fine. But if you don't have Wi-Fi and you use your 3G, it will take out time from there thus costing money because of the cost of 3G. Hope this helped.
Currently you can only FaceTime if you have an active Wi-Fi connection to your phone. This is because video chatting usually takes up a lot of data, so Apple has went a step ahead to make sure people don't hit their data limits when using it.
- What does Cellular Data Usage Current Period mean? I have an iphone 5c and Unlimited calls, unlimited texts and 6GB of data. In cellular in settings it says Current Period: 8.4GB and Current Period Roaming: 0 bytes, am I going over my bill?!
- Under settings on my iPhone, does the data usage include Wi-Fi usage? Because its stating a ridiculous amount and I've had my data off… And my Wi-Fi on. Does the total of data include the amount of Internet I'm using when on Wi-Fi? I'm so confused

But also in the iPhone there's a cellular usage count in the settings app which also tells how much data you have used. Both of my cellular usage counts are different. Which is right?
- IPhone 5 data usage. How much data will I need for certain apps? If I'm sending around 15-20 tweets a day, refreshing my twitter feed frequently about once every 10-15 mins & refreshing an Instagram feed around once an hour will 250MB's data be enough for a month? I won't be posting any photo's on Instagram or Twitter when I'm away from Wi-Fi. I'll also be receiving about about 10 emails a day without attachments?
