Does iphone need a sim card for first boot setup?
So i recently bought iphone 5 for me, and i'm a fresh iphone user, yeah i never used iphone before!
I don't put a simcard on my iPhone. But during setup, they says (could not activate your iphone) error!
And they also told that you will need sim card for setup your iphone!
So does it compulsorily need sim card for first boot setup?
Sry for bad english. I need urgent help. Please answer!
Yes a SIM card is needed to activate the device
My understanding is that it does
once you have set it up including setting up your Apple ID you can then remove the sim and use the device effectively as an IPod Touch - so all web function including IMessage and Facetime will be available to you so long as you have a Wi-Fi connection
Yes it is mandatory. The only exception is the iPhone 4 CDMA model. You'll need a SIM card from the carrier that the phone is locked to, or if the phone is unlocked, any SIM card that works.
- Locked iPhone and need sim card to use because I restarted it but i don't have the specific sim I need. Please i'm desperate? Ok so my aunt got me an iPhone from Canada but its sim locked and it says I need to insert a sim card for it to work. The problem is i don't have a sim from that specific company that locked it and the only thing I can do is emergency calls and all that. I can't even use it as an iTouch or something.
- I need iphone 4s setup My friend just got a new iphone4s she was wondering if she was to turn it on and let the battery drain, without connecting to itunes or going through the setup process, if the seccon time she turned it on (after the battey draining) that the setup process won't be there. Will the setup process still be there? Is it worth draining the battery? Or should she not drain the battery? Does it make much difference?

- Changing from normal sim card to iPhone 4 sim card? I'm an AT&T customer with a smart phone. I'm wanting to buy an iPhone 4 but I know they take smaller sim cards than normal phones. If I buy an iPhone from an individual, can I take it to AT&T and have them give me a smaller sim card & transfer my information? Would I have to pay extra for it? Is it even possible?
