Does my iphone get damaged if i turn it off for a year?

I have an iphone 7plus that i planned on keeping for another year or so to use but my ******* brother used it for a few days. If i charge it fully and turn it off to keep for a year is there any damage caused? I'm p i s s e d

No

Yea, it self-destructs.

I'm confused. You were going to use the iPhone 7+ but then your brother used it, so now you don't want to use it for 1 year?

Anyway, there's no problem with turning it off for a year. The only minor issue would be when you turn it back on and the phone and apps all want to update. Any emails, messages, etc will all try to load also. While that might take some time, it shouldn't cause actual problems (unless the iOS update screws it up but you can turn all the updates to manual and not automatic)

Hopefully not

You might want to charge it every couple of months. Even swiched off it uses a trickle of power for the clock, and to watch the power button

So your brother used it for a few days? I don't understand.

If you plan on storing it is recommended that the battery is drained to at least 50%, not a full charge.

You would need to recharge it several times during that year,
but otherwise it would be OK.
