Does resetting an iPhone 4s unlock it from a certain carrier?
I bought an iPhone 4s and its Locked to orange. I'm with tesco mobile. If I reset the phone, would I be able to use my sim and unlock the phone from Orange? The person who we bought it off is on holiday and I need my phone to work As soon as possible, and they can't cancel the unlocking thing from where they are.
No, resetting it won't unlock it. To get it to work with your carrier, you'll have to factory unlock the phone. Simply ask your carrier about unlocking it or if they know of other services that will factory unlock it. Sometimes it can take from less than a day to 2 weeks in each situation. Just try getting it factory unlocked somewhere and be patient.
