Does the Easton, CT post office accept general delivery mail?

The first part of my question is can I address a letter as general delivery to the Easton, CT post office? I called them before but they didn't seem to understand what I was asking. A broader question, is the information about post offices from the USPS iPhone app up to date and true? They list general delivery as a service available at the aforementioned post office, but the response to my call has confused me. Any help is appreciated, these conflicting answers have me at a loss as to what to do when addressing the letter (it's to a friend with no current address)

Call them and ask.
