Does the factory apple warranty cover a cracked screen?

I recently cracked my iphone 5 LCD screen, and I'm wondering does the apple factory warranty cover it? If not what options do I have with apple, I don't want to pay $300 + for aftermarket repairs.

Unfortunately manufacturers don't warranty repair accidental damage such as this.
I suggest you research the net to find a better price to repair the screen. You might get lucky to find a faulty phone but that screen still works OK. - Be careful of the crooks out there.

Your best bet is to take it to an apple store. If you bought the "apple care plus" they'll charge you 50 bucks and give you a whole new phone. If you didn't, they'll either sell it to you (within 30 days I think) or I've even seen them cover the replacement costs for a first time accident like that. Definitely cheaper than voiding the warranty by taking the phone elsewhere.
