Does the iPhone 4 NEED a SIM card to be activated?
I bought my parents both iPhone 4 phones on eBay. They seem to be working just fine, it's just that it makes me connect to Wi-Fi and then one says "Activation Error" and on the other iPhone it says "SIM Required". Shouldn't both say the same thing?
Both iPhones need sim cards to be activated. It doesn't matter what each of them are saying, they both need sim cards in them.
Yes you need a valid SIM card to activate the phone then after activation you can safely remove the sim and use the phone
- What would happen if I put my not yet activated Sim Card in my Iphone? My new plan is going to get activated on dec 25/13 but I just really want to start using my new iphone, and I can't use it until I insert a sim card.so, what would happen if I put the sim card in it that is not yet activated?
- Locked iPhone and need sim card to use because I restarted it but i don't have the specific sim I need. Please i'm desperate? Ok so my aunt got me an iPhone from Canada but its sim locked and it says I need to insert a sim card for it to work. The problem is i don't have a sim from that specific company that locked it and the only thing I can do is emergency calls and all that. I can't even use it as an iTouch or something.

- How to get into a phone that has Find my iPhone activated but no sim card? Or contact the owner of this lost phone? I found this phone on the sidewalk today and I have been trying to find out who it belongs to. I thought that if I went to get the sim card, I could contact their provider (like ATT, Versizon, etc) and ask them to return the phone. But there isn't even a sim card on the phone. It also has this Find My iPhone thing, so it feels like there's nothing I can do. Any suggestions on how I could get it back to the owner?
