Does the iPhone 6 plus and iPhone 6 have pretty much the same screen resolution?

They say that the iPhone 6 plus has a higher pixel density than the iPhone 6. But is that simply because the iPhone 6 plus has a bigger screen? And they have to put a higher resolution on the 6 plus so it could look decent? I'm assuming the iPhone 6 is smaller, it doesn't need a lot of pixels in its screen. So basically it's pretty much the same screen. What do you guys think?

IPhone 6 - 1334x750, 4.7" w/ 326 ppi
iPhone 6 Plus - 1920x1080, 5.5" w/ 401 ppi

So no they aren't the same resolution, size or ppi.

There's 1,073,100 (1.07MP*), 0.8" & 75 ppi difference between them.
