Does The iPhone 7 Plus Really Last A Long Time?

I heard that iPhones last for only 1 year. And some people tell me that they can sometimes last longer. Even Apple company says that they don't cover the Warranty, or if its damaged it won't cover it either. So yeah. Can someone please give me some information about the iPhones please. I never had one. I have an LG now. And I'm runned by Metro PCS. That is the service phone I'm run on and I used to have AT&T.

Iphones probably have the longest life and support of any make, assuming you look after them equally well.

I'm using an iphone 6 which is three years old and still perfect.

My iphone 4 from some years before that is likewise 100% functional - I use occasionally for software testing.
That was bought soon after they came out, in late 2010.
I did fit a new battery last year as it was starting to lose capacity a bit, but it was still fully usable regardless.
(Less than 10- for a kit on ebay).

Software updates are issued for as long as the phone hardware is capable of running the new versions; typically 3 - 4 years.

Most Android models are abandoned by the maker in a few months to a year or so, as far as updates are concerned.

(I have an Android tablet. Also a couple of Android phones again used for software testing; I'm not an "apple fanatic", I just prefer iOS on phones; I want long term reliability with phone, for me it's an essential tool not a toy).

IPhones definitely last more than a year, since Apple supports them in terms of software updates for about 5 years (no this does not mean they last only 5 years either).

Of course Apple would honour their own warranty but there are limits to the standard warranty. AppleCare is the extended, more comprehensive warranty.
