Don't understand the option to enable 4G on tmobile?

I have an iPhone 5 on contract with tmobile. The carrier comes up with EE as I understand they own tmobile. But, I found the option in settings to enable 4G, but I don't understand this, will it charge me? I thought only EE contracts could have 4G, so why is this option available?

That option is a feature of iPhone and not of carrier's. If you have 4G included in your contract, enable it. If you don't have then keep it disabled.

  • IPhone 5, 4G(HSPA). Enable LTE option? I own a xperia z before, and it has connected to 4G (HSPA). When i used my iPhone. It only displays 3G. But according to my research it will display to 4G when connected to HSPA. I see the "Enable LTE" option under Cellular Data and it is turned OFF. Should i turn it on to get the 4G(HSPA) signal?
