Downloading iTunes 10.7 - will this delete all old iTunes data?
Just got the iPhone 5, but my computer want me to get iTunes 10.7 first. I thought it just meant update, but when I went to Check for Updates it said I have the current version. If I download it from the Apple site, will it overwrite everything from my old iTunes? (like delete my songs, playlists, apps, etc?)
NO. Back it up just in case
No iTunes stores it into a difference file called something like viTunes_library or something like that. Along as nothing happens to that file you should be fine. Also your music and apps will be on your computer if something happens iTunes should find them automatically and put them back on.
- Will downloading a new iTunes ruin my old iTunes library? I tried connecting my new iPhone 5 to my iTunes but it said that it wouldn't connect because my version of iTunes was really old (from 2010) and I never updated. It said I need to download a new version of iTunes (10.7 onwards) for it to be compatible with my iPhone. But my question is, IF I download a new version of iTunes, will all my old songs on my old iTunes disappear? Because if I had to re-download my whole library, I would seriously cry. That would take the rest of my life.
- Move All data from old iPhone to new? I have an iPhone 5 on iOS 7.1, and I want to move everything onto my new iPhone 5s on iOS 7.0.4 Is there any way to do this without *updating*? I mostly just want to transfer over the messages/contacts/ photos/app game data, notes I made a full backup but it does not seem to add anything to the 5s when I restore. I believe I saw a message once saying the backup may not work due to using an older iOS
- If I delete the twitter app on my iPhone, will it delete all the data on it? My twitter app is not loading and keeps saying there's an error. I know this isn't twitter's problem because all of my friends' twitters are working fine. I want to uninstall and reinstall it but by doing so, what will it all erase?
- If I delete All my photos from my IPhone cam roll, does that delete All videos as well? I have an iPhone 5 and have just downloaded all my pics from my camera roll onto my computer. Since they're now saved onto something else, I want to delete all of them from my cam roll-- but does this delete all the videos also? (somehow I'm unable to download the videos to my computer).
