Driver license suspension in Columbus Ohio?

Hi, I live in Columbus Ohio and around January I closed my insurance. I was driving February when I was pulled over for a normal traffic violation and let off with a warning. I believe at that time I didn't show my insurance card to the officer ( I know the card is good for 6 months even though it is not valid) and he marke that on the ticket. I later received a letter which I did not read until I found out the BMV suspended my license in April. I was pulled over again on May 7th an the officer notified me about my suspension. I told him I was unaware and he first told me I couldn't drive and had to leave my car here and call for a ride. He then made a call and told me my vehicle would be impounded. On May 9th after selling my iPhone 5 I had enough money to pay the $150 reinstatement fee, get my vehicle out and get insurance with SR-22. I regretted my mistake and thought everything would be smooth. I then receive a letter in the mail which on June 26th from the BMV stating that my license would be suspended for 1 year if I didn't provide proof of insurance on May 7th( the same day my car got impounded). I couldn't provide that and didn't want to take the route of providing fake proof of insurance. So now my license are suspended for a year. What can I do next?

If you work or go to school you can petition the court for a occupational license at the county courthouse and that's your only way to get a license since you were not insured.
