Dropped iPhone 4s in water, now it won't stay turned off?

Okay, I just dropped my phone in my pool and I immediately shook it dry, turned it off, removed the sim card, and shoved it in a rice filled Ziploc bag. But now it won't stay turned off! It turns right back on immediately after I shut it down. This is a major issue because I know it being on can further cause internal corrosion… Anyone have any tips on how to shut it off so it STAYS shut off? It would be GREATLY appreciated.

The rice trick doesn't work on idevices.sell it for parts

Try holding in the home button and the lock button at the same time, for a long time. This might not work at all, but it worked for my friend when her's wouldn't turn off - although she hadn't dropped it in water.

Water may have possibly gotten between the contacts of the power button and the board and is short circuiting it, causing it to switch back on again. But that's only a guess. Dropping a phone in water isn't a very good idea at all and Apple probably won't cover what you did.

Leave it for another good while for all the water to completely evaporate from the phone and try turning it off again. If it still doesn't work then it's probably safe to say it's water damaged

Once the phone turns completely off let it dry for 1 or 2 days and call apple but don't mention you dropped it into your pool because the warranty doesn't cover water damage. That's if you have warranty hopefully you do If you're not sure you can click this link -> https://selfsolve.apple.com/...etWarranty. Do and type in your Serial Number. If you do just tell apple that you've had battery shortage or something and they'll send you a brand new one. I've done this when i accidently dropped my phone in my soda -.- lol but i got a new one from apple, hopefully this helped.
