Dropped iphone in toilet - 1

Hi, so yesterday morning before i went to school i dropped my iphone 4 in the toilet (yeah i know, super bad luck!) and i took it out immediately. It worked perfectly fine as i shaked some water out but yeah i just continued to use the phone as per normal for the whole day till the battery went out.

then i went online to check what i should do and it says to leave it in rice so i did exactly but i just wanna know how long i should leave it in the rice before i can charge it again?

The rice method is awesome! My roommate had an iPhone that went swimming once, and it worked for her. What you should do is put it in a big of rice where rice completely covers the entire phone and leave it in for a few days. Do not try to turn it on or plug it into a charger as that can fry the phone if there's still water inside somewhere. Sounds like since you already had your phone on since that you may be out of luck, but it's always worth a shot.
