Dropped my iPhone in a cup of water

So I dropped my beloved iPhone in a cup of water.
My initial reaction was to blow dry it - realized after googling what to do & talking to friends that you are absolutely not suppose to do that. Fortunately did not do it for long. My phone is currently in a ziplock bag of rice.

However…
My phone is screen is still on
I tried turning off the phone, but it keeps gliching and turning back on. It will not stay turned off!
I tried to take out the sim card & did not have the proper tools to do so with, so it is still in there. And so is the mechanical pencil led that is now stuck in there after my awful attempt:/

Yeah… Not exactly the smoothest night for me…

Any advice? Is it okay that my phone is still turned on in the bag of rice?

Just wait, I think you're doing everything you could.

But if you're under ATT go online because they offer good deals like new phones for cheap or you may report it lost or stolen and get a new one free if it's still eligible.

Leaving it alone at this point is better than messing with it. Let it sit in the rice for a long time--at least 12 hours. Let the battery drain completely down. Then try.

Hold the home and turn off switch until it turns off (rebooting) then do the same to turn it back on, if it doesn't work you're quite possibly screwed.
