Educational program crippling people by using society?
For years I have studied the changes in social acceptance, education and society in general along with specific parts of this twisted clique. There's new belief and proper reasoning and connections that the higher class and larger businesses have recommended "better" schooling to make modern workers docile, dependent, and workers/students who are more likely to work day in and out doing the same task. In his article "The Purpose of Education: Social Uplift or Social Control?" Andrew Gavin Marshall carefully documents the process by which the school system came to be seen as a tool of nation-building and then as a mechanism of social control. Writing in the American Journal of Sociology in the 1970s, researchers noted:
"The spread of schooling in the rural North and West can best be understood as a social movement implementing a commonly held ideology of nation-building. It combined the outlook and interests of small entrepreneurs in a world market, evangelical Protestantism, and an individualistic conception of the polity." This change is not due to the increase of technology since further more the investments of technology to benefit people in the wider spectrum have been scrambled for the personal needs and greed of IPhones and "smart" cars. The space race is no longer the concern and now factories produce much of America so now everything is becoming specific to the point of which this system needs to crumble. My plan is to go into this system with the sole purpose of ruining what has ruined many lives. Any ideas regarding where to start and the amount of partners would be appreciated. Society needs to change because any longer and everyone will follow blindly like the Bush incident which only brought the problem to the surface.
Erm, I didn't quite catch your thesis… However this passage reminds me of a movement I've heard of that espouses a suspension of the contemporary political system of elected figures being used to assuage society's desire for control, while our political figures all the while use this desire as a mechanism for manipulation through public discourse. Society nowadays is so very disconnected from governance the idea of one having personal affect is hard to abstractly conceive of. It would seem as though if change is what you desire, you should work less within the system and start by making society more conscious of their role as a citizen and their potential for change through their actions and beliefs. Society would have to work directly converse to their indoctrinated subservience to officials. Perhaps you could utilize social networking to induce movement
- Why is society like this today? I'm 17 and when i'm on public transport, everyone has an iphone or a samsung galaxy they are always on it, i don't know what they are on, but they are on it. i have an iphone, but i rarely use it and what i can't believe is why the little kids have iphones why is it?
- Why are iPhones so important in our society? What's so great about them? I don't get it. Every time i turn on the TV, there's some segment about the NEW IPHONE… Big whoop, it's just a freaking phone, for crying out loud. You make calls with it, you can go online with it, you can take still pics, and you can record video. Wow, no other phone in the world can do that. How revolutionary. Boy, iPhones are amazing
- What will Society be like in 2000-3000 years? I think future humans will laugh at us. Just like how we laugh at some the romans and greeks ideas about gods and such… I also think technology will be incredibly advanced, seeing as just as much as something like the iPhone has advanced in just 5 years.
- What Society thing will you not conform to? .anything from the latest iPhone to the (for girls) the latest skirt or makeup? Are you a donkey following the carrot or do you have a mind of your own? Are you waiting to be TOLD what to like or can you make up you own mind?
