Erase and sync, new itunes library, iphone 4S?
So My dad put all his music on my computer and i was able to put it on my ipod. Well now he gave me his iphone 4s and it still has all his music on it. But now in order to download my music to my iphone, it says i have to erase and sync, if i do this and connect to my itunes library will it delete all that music?
No it will erase your iPhone and replace the music on the phone from the iTunes library
"now in order to download my music to my iphone, it says i have to erase and sync"
That's wrong.
You only need to erase if you want to put music on your phone by syncing it.
In 3 years using my iPod Touch 3, I have never synced. Instead, I use manual management of music and video. It's a legit setting on iTunes - no hacking or "jailbreak" needed. In all that time, I've never had to erase music on my iPod to put new music on my iPod. I've managed to avoid virtually all of the problems reported by people who insist on syncing their iPods.
I've used MM on various devices - from the 1st Nano through iPhone 5.
- Will deleting my iTunes library erase it from everything? I recently got an apple computer and have been switching everything over from my pc. Once done, I'm giving my old pc to someone else so I want to make sure none of my old stuff is on it. I have already imported my iTunes library to my apple computer so I want to get rid of it on the other one. If I delete all the music in the library on the windows, will it also delete from the mac and my other devices it's on? Like my iPod and phone?
- What will erase and sync erase on my iphone? I wanted to connect my iphone to a new computer but it says erase and sync, what will it erase? All of the contents or just music?
- IS THERE ANY Way YOU CAN BYPASS ITUNES ERASE AND SYNC? I have an iphone and i don't want to delete all the songs i recently put on with another computer/itunes account is there any way i can bypass itunes erase and sync?
- If I erase and sync my iPhone 4 in the music library, will it erase my photos? I'm trying to add music to my iPhone 4 and when I go to sync just the music, it says 'erase and sync'. Will it delete my photos? If so, can I right click my iPhone and back it up so if it does delete my photos, I can just back it up?
