Explain the att family plan?

So I'm hopefully going to be getting an iPhone 4S and we use AT&T so my mom said we'd use the family plane. To add lines, you pay an extra $9.99. I was wondering what you all get with the whole family thing. So to my understanding, you get Internet, unlimited texting and unlimited calling. Or am I being mistaken.
No hate about the iPhone 4S I don't wanna get an iPhone 5 because their too expensive rite now

Adding a line onto a Family Talk plan you would pay 9.99 if it is a limited talk plan ie a plan with minutes. You would then need to pay for the required data plan which can run you anywhere from 20-50 a month. Messaging is likely covered at the family plan level with a family messaging plan.   • What would be the average cost per month for a family plan on AT&T? For 2 people with smart phones, one with an iphone and one with a droid, and we would both have the lowest internet cost (I believe its 25 dollars per phone). Also this wouldn't include the actual cost of buying the phones, I'm just talking about per month.
  • Upgrading to an Iphone with family Plan? I want to upgrade one our family plan lines. Currently we have 4 lines and we 700 anytime minutes with unlimited texting we pay 120 a month. I wanted to upgrade and get the new iphone. Can anyone tell me how much more its going to be per month?
  • Sprint Family/Data Plan Okay, so right now I have a family "simply everything messaging" plan that doesn't include data. I'm wanting to upgrade my basic phone to an iphone without changing my whole plan to a family data plan. I saw online the option for adding a data service onto one phone for $15. Does that mean that i can keep my old plan and pay $15 for data a month extra just for the iphone? Or what exactly is the added "data service?" Thanks so Much!
  • Prices for Verizon family plan? My dad has an android from Verizon with unlimited everything and I might get and iPhone 4 from Verizon also with unlimited everything would it be cheaper to have the phone by itself (and how much) or to put it on a family plan with my dad? And how much will the family plan cost a month with 2 smartphones?
