Facetime on Mac computer randomly stopped working?

I was FaceTiming my friend on my Mac OS X and he was on his iPhone, and randomly my microphone stopped working. I could still hear him. But he couldn't hear me anymore. I don't know how to fix it and my friend says his phone volume is up and i don't know.

Have you tried restarting the mac? If that doesn't work go into system preferences and go to the audio section and see if the mic is even picking anything up. Is the microphone built in, or is it an external microphone? If external, unplug it, restart the computer, and plug it back in. It might be a good idea to contact Apple support if your still having difficulty.

There was no noise that indicated something was broken, so I just assumed I should put some earphones in. When I put my earphones in it didn't make a difference I still don't have sound. I turned iMessages off in settings, then re-turned it back on, and came up with some stuff about re-entering my Apple ID password, which it never has done before. It's also saying it can't verify my Apple ID, and I haven't changed any of it, and it is still not sending iMessages.
  • My iPhone 5 4g and LTE randomly stopped working? The LTE is enabled so I don't understand why this is happening. My phone isn't making any calls and the texts aren't going through unless connected to Wi-Fi. As for cellular data usage, my "current period" is at 621 MB and my "current period roaming" is at 0 bytes. How do I solve this problem so that my phone makes calls, and my LTE and 4g work again?
