From an iphone 4s is the 5s or 5c really better?

I'm buying an iphone soon and i was wondering, if i can only afford a 4s am i really missing out on anything. Also can you make phone calls and text over Wi-Fi?

I've heard the 5s & 5c are more fragile than the older iphones. No phone calls nor text on Wi-Fi. Those would go thru your data plan. And be aware the imessaging doesn't always work, so any text that isn't imessaging will be a text charge or included in your text plan

I don't know what your budget is, but you can get the iPhone 5 (16gb) for about $100 with a new contract now. There isn't much difference between the 5 and 5s/c, but it is better than the 4s. Mainly the bigger screen and 4g cellular data speeds.

There are no calls over Wi-Fi, that I have heard of, but you can use the iMessage feature for text messages with other Apple products.

Here is a comparison of all three phones side by side - From the iPhone 4s to the 5s (putting aside the 5c which is a budget phone) there isn't a big jump. I say there hasn't been any new interesting thing released since the iphone 4.So yh, go for the 4s.
