Getting a ringtone on my iPhone? - 1

I got an app that allowed me to record a ringtone from one of my songs. However, according to the app, I need to sync my iPhone to iTunes to get it into my sounds folder. I have a ton of pirated music on my phone, so if I do that it will all be deleted(I confirmed this with an older iPod that I don't use). How can I get the ringtone without deleting all my stuff?

You don't have to sync to iTunes like you would an iPod. You have to plug the device into iTunes and stop the automatic sync if it comes up. Then go under your iPhone's name and set it to Manually Manage Music. Now you put and take off what you want and not have iTunes do it by itself. Now you have to go under apps and then under iTunes File Sharing which is all the way at the bottom and then look for the ringtone app you downloaded. To the right you will see the file or files you made. Click on one of them and save them somewhere on your computer - the desktop is the easiest. Then drag the saved ringtone from the desktop and into iTunes. A section called Tones will pop up in iTunes. Now go into Tones and drag and drop the ringtone on your phone's name. It should sync it over. If you want to, you can go under your phone's name and tell it to sync ringtones automatically. It will leave your music alone because you told iTunes not to bother it. I've done this plenty of times and each time it has worked.

  • Why does my ringtone work on my iphone? I purchase a ringtone on itunes and it says its my ringtone when i go to sounds but when someone calls it it doesn't make a sound and it just vibrates
  • Transfer purchased ringtone from iPhone to iPhone? I upgraded today from my 5s to a SE, and have already transferred all my apps, contacts, music, etc. But when I go into my settings to set the ringtone to the one I purchased through iTunes, it isn't there and it isn't listed in my purchases either. However, it's still listed in my purchases and tones on my old 5s, so I know I did buy it. How do I transfer it without buying it again?
  • Is there any way of getting iPhone 5 for 199$ and getting rid of the contract? I just want the phone and wanna get rid of the contract without paying for it. I know how to unlock the phone so that's not a problem.
  • Is the iPhone 5s still worth getting in 2015? Is it getting obsolete? My mom might be considering on getting me an iPhone, but she said that i Can't get a 6. She might be getting me a 5s instead. I don't know when yet though. How many years will Apple support software updates? It is already almost two years old and is it still a worth getting?
