Gift ideas for elderly man?
I recently broke my phone and i'm getting a iphone SE at the end of the year. But in the meantime my grandfather has lended me his old iphone 5S and my father says that i need to give him a gift to say thank you. He is nearly 80 years old,
what should I get him?
Take him to lunch and spend a little time with him.
Make a gift basket for him, including items he may not be willing to splurge on. Ask your father for suggestions. It demonstrates appreciation and time spent in creating it for him, along with a card.
I would go to the petstore and get him a nice puppy, he will love that
Give him some of your time. He'll appreciate that far, far more than anything you can give him.
And please ignore the suggestion of a puppy. You must NEVER give a live animal to anybody without that person's full advance knowledge and consent.
Fruit baskets are nice, but enjoying his company is even better. Maybe get stuff he needs. Or doing what he always wanted to do but never could because of his old age.
On second thought, these should not be gifts, but what you should have done to him in addition to the pointless "gifting".
- Why are elderly people so confused with technology most of the time? My grandma has had an iPhone for years and still doesn't know how to use it… She always asks me to help her with things that are so simple. Same with my granddad and my older aunts and uncles. They seem like they don't know how to use the simplest user friendly technology and when me or someone else who is young fixes it so easily they think were magicians. I know they didn't grow up with technology but really, is it that hard to figure out? (Not trying to offend anyone btw)
