Giving my Pen Pal my home address?

We're both adults, and live in different countries.
We email and click well, we would like to send letters/small packages occasionally.
Is it safe to give a pen pal my name/home address?
I trust the person and I think writing letters every so often would be fun,
but I just want to make sure its safe.

I can't afford a PO box at the moment.
So is there any risk/danger? I'm pretty sure i'm just being paranoid for no reason.

Before computers, before iPhone, before the telephones & cable TV, before all that, the only way people across the ocean communicate is by MAILS, and they send packages to each other. They usually reach someone on the other side by boat or by plane which takes several months to a year!

This is 2016, where any one across the ocean can have communication by telephone, text, or FACEBOOK, and notify anyone their personal information JUST from a click of a finger!

Pen Pals are still CONSIDERED STRANGERS. You have EVERY RIGHT to be paranoid and you have the right to be. Your gut feeling is warning you, YOU CAN'T TRUST EVERYONE, not even your PEN PAL.

PO were added people who have their mails stolen, who live in the country and have to drive to the city to pick up their mails. They were INVENTED to protect you, and it's not just a matter of convenience!

If you want to take a risk, go for it, but if you can't afford to rent a PO box, then, I'm saying, you can't afford to have a PEN PAL. Stick to emails! There's also E-GREETINGS, where you can send someone birthday cards, etc. Without spending money on greeting cards and have them sent online. This is 2016, where IT'S not as safe as 40 years ago, when we don't live behind closed doors with wrought iron windows/doors to protect us from STRANGERS.

  • Why do my pen and ink illustrations appear blurred on Instagram? I've scanned them into photoshop to add colour, then saved as a high quality jpeg. It looks clear when viewed on my iPhone, but when viewed on my computer the lines appear pixelated. Any ideas?
