Going from an iPad Mini to an iPhone 5
I'm getting an iPhone 5 very soon and currently have an iPad Mini. Do I have to backup my iCloud on my iPad to get all my contacts, photos, games, ect. On my phone?

- What use is an ipad or ipad mini to someone with an iphone and macbook? I'm thinking of getting an ipad mini or ipad 2 for someone who already has an iphone 5 and macbook pro. I don't know how useful it will be since they are not likely to use it outside of their home and i'll be getting the non 3g version so it won't be much use when they take it out anyway.
- Should i get that ipad mini, i already have the iphone 5? I was kinda hoping that they would make the ipad more portable, but now that i have that new iphone, is it necessary to get the ipad mini?

I'm currently using iphone 4s right now but i wanted to sell this and buy an ipad mini with cellular and use my current micro sim to the ipad. Can it send and receive text messages and calls the way iphone does through the cellular network?
