Going to A&E with thrush (male)?
I know what your thinking… "How can a case of thrush be bad enough to go to A&E"… Well its not that bad at all. Its visable, itches and slightly burns when i urinate. I've had it a few times over the last few years and know the signs.
I've had thrush for 6 days now and have been using cannistan, keeping myself clean etc. However it hasn't completely gone. I went to the chemist yesterday and explained to the pharmacist what had happened. He suggested going to see a doctor as they can prescribe some stronger cream/tablets.
I called my doctors and was met by an offish receptionist who said i had to wait a week and a half before i could see a doctor.
In her words "Thrush isn't an important enough case to be seen that soon"… I even called back and got a different receptionist who said the same thing. Now here is my problem, I'm actually going to Spain for two weeks a few days before the doctors appointment. Its basically going to be nearly 4 weeks before i can get to see a doctor about the thrush. I know nothing bad can come of it as long as i use the cream etc, but i've read it will get worse if its not treated properly. I don't want to be on holiday and in pain.
Can i really go into A&E in my small local hospital? Its mostly for accidents or if you are seriously worried about something. I really don't wish to waste resources/waste the doctors/nurses time. Any idea?
I don't live near ANY drop in centers etc
P.S sorry for typos, sentence structure lol i'm using my iphone and still tyring to get used to the touch screen x
Definitely get it checked out. You will probably need tablets as well as cream. Thrush is a yeast infection and passed from partner to partner during sex, so suggest you use protection so you don't pass it on and so that any new (or existing) partner can't re infect you. You might also try having a low yeast diet, that might help while you are on medication.
Here we go. You phone the Doctors and firmly state that you need an emergency app: with your Doctor. You do not have to explain why to the receptionist. There are emergency slots every day and they HAVE to see you. Do NOT be put off, any problems ask to speak to the Practice Manager.
These receptionists are power mad and Can't refuse you an app: if you insist.
I doubt A&E will help. Try Docs first and A&E afterwards.
Good Luck.

Have you tried the Caneston Pill - works in conjunction with the cream. I have always used both. Chemist still open if you rush.
- Is it wrong for a male to get a white iPhone? I really like the new silver white iPhone but I've read on some blogs that people consider this to be feminine. I normally prefer black phones but I really just don't like the new space grey colour. So I really want the white and silver one, but my concern is will this de-masculinise me in any way?
