Guild wars 2 download install takes ages?

Ok so I purchased guild wars 2 about 2 hours ago, I'm downloading the client and its averaging about 100-200 KB a second! Its been about an hour and its at 0% and 215120 files left to download and it downloads 1 file about every second! I'm going nuts! Please tell me how to fix this D:
BTW: When i'm downloading my internet gets super slow for my iphone and for browsing the web!

Added (1). 1. You can't pause the client download.
2. I have restarted my modem and router and waited 15 seconds before restarting.
3. My pc can handle guild wars 2 graphics…

My solution to slow downloads is to pause the download, go about my day, and start the download before I go to bed.

You need to reset your modem and router. It looks like your modem isn't sending and receiving packages very well.

God help you when you get the game installed tho. If you can't figure out the internet there's no way you are going to figure out how to optimize the graphics for this game. Its horribly optimized as it is.

Enjoy 5 FPS.

3.) Thats what you think till you realize the game is poorly coded and even top end machines can hardly squeeze 60 FPS averages.

The client is +25gb so with that speed its gonna take few days for you to download the game

The more other activities you are trying to do while downloading, the slower it will be. Remember you are downloading almost 20 GB of information and files. If you have to stop it, it will start again where it left off and start downloading the remainder, but the percentage amount you see is the percentage since you started the client again.

I feel your pain. I downloaded on my PC at home very quickly (a couple of hours), but my download on a laptop I did at work and that took a few hours every day for about 4 days because the broadband is slower and we had to be using it for work related things first.

My advice is this - When downloading, don't use the internet for anything else. If this is not possible, start the download around 10 pm (or just before you go to bed).It should be close to done (if not already finished) by the time you wake up.

This is normal phenomenon.keep patient.
