Had a power surge, now I can't detect my Wi-Fi?

About half an hour ago I experienced a power surge. The Wi-Fi was not working afterwards so I rebooted it. Our home computer is connecting to it just fine but our iphones and laptops aren't. When I pull up the list of local Wi-Fi signals around me on our laptops or phones, ours does not show up. I've tried restarting and unplugging the modem/router multiple times but nothing seems to have helped. I'm stumped, what else can I do?

side note- all our neighbors Wi-Fi signals are showing, just not ours.

You say your "home computer", are you meaning a desktop that is connected via an Ethernet cable?

Is the light for the wireless on? The surge may have wiped out some or all of the configuration on the router. You may need to login with the desktop and turn the wireless back on and adjust the settings as needed.

If you didn't have a surge protector between the wall and the access point/router, you might be hosed. If you rent the AP/router, you'll need to call your ISP in to replace it; otherwise you might need to buy a new one (and a surge protector while you're at it ;-).

Get an active Wi-Fi scanning program (inSSIDer for Windows, iStumbler for Mac) running on one of the laptops and play with the channel settings in the router from your home computer. Some routers even have power output settings for the wireless radio. This is the largest amount of hope I can give, but you probably just need to replace the thing.

You can try to restart your laptop and iPhones for solutions. If it still couldn't work, maybe these solutions would help you, http://www.mywifirouter.me/topic/six-useful-ways-help-to-solve-wifi-problems/
