HD voice calling won't seem to work?

I'm trying to use the iPhone 5s (which supports HD voice) to call another telephone that supports HD voice over my carrier. However, it doesn't seem to be working as the call quality is not of HD voice standards. Therefore, this leads me to think that it's not working. Please note that the carrier supports HD voice. I have already tried to do a restore. Is there anything that I'm missing that you may suggest to try?

Are you sure that your recipient is an owner of one of the latest Apple devices? This plays in important part in what the device can talk to and what it can't, the newer the device the more support/options it has. Another thing you might want to try is attempting while connected to Wi-Fi. While your carrier may support that feature, there may be poor connection, causing the call quality to drop. The better the connection the better the quality. This is the same with streaming videos and music.

  • Is there any calling apps that work without Wi-Fi? I have a 5 Generation iPod. My parents can't afford an iPhone for me, and I can't afford one either. I want to call and text without Wi-Fi on my iPod. Is there any LEGIT and REAL apps that do this? If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all. -Thank you.

It records your voice and then plays it back transformed version of it and even when you laugh, it tries to mimic your laughter causing hysterical laughter. Do you know what I'm talking about?
