Headphones volume changing randomly?

When I plug in my headphones to an iPhone (iPhone 6 and 4s) my volume starts off low and if I turn the jack a little it increases in volume. When plugged into my android the volume seems to stay the same. The only real difference between the two is where to put the jack into. Android has it on the top of the phone and the iPhone on the botttom. What could it be?

  • Why does the iphone put full volume when I plug in headphones? I hate when it puts it in nearly full volume when I plug in the headphones and have them in my ears. Why does it like to troll me like that?
  • Volume on iPhone works then randomly stops working? Was listening to iheart radio from my ihome when music randomly stopped now nothing has volume, vibrate button is off when I go to which videos the volume bar isn't even there to turn it up or down. When I press the side volume button it says ringer speaker icon is full but no matter if I press it up or down it doesn't move, what could be the problem?
  • My normal headphones won't work after using Bluetooth headphones? (iPhone 7)? I've been using AirPods for a couple months now and the battery is getting pretty bad so I decided to get some plug-in Apple headphones but those don't work. When I plug them in I get a "not supported" notification. I've also tried friends headphones that worked fine on there phone, so I know it's not just faulty wires.
  • Music volume with headphones on IPhone 5se keeps going up and down on its own? I have an IPhone 5se and when I'm using headphones the volume cuts out going up, plays, and then cuts out again and goes back down to where it originally was. It does this very randomly probably every minute or so. I don't think it's the headphones as I plugged them into my laptop to listen to something and it was fine. Has anyone else experienced this problem or know what it is?
