Help from cyclists who use iphones?

Does anyone know a good app where i can put in a destination and it'll tell me where to go through good cycle routes and NOT take me on to motorways which also speaks and tells me where to go. I've tried apple and google maps but they either take me onto motorways ( i'm on my bike so i can't go on motorways ) or doesn't have a voice that will tell me where to go because i'm on my bike and i can't keep looking at my phone for directions.

Please help?

Added (1). Johnnm - I'm training for a cycle in september and i'm thinking of cycling to murrayfield stadium in Edinburgh as thats part of the cycle in september but i don't know how to get there and as i'm cycling on the road i can't have my phone in my hand all the time.

Added (2). Old hippie - Does it speak and tell me directions so i can keep my phone in my bag and just listen to it through earphones?

How are you going to get lost on your bicycle? Most people have favorite routes that they like no need for a stupid iphone. Carry a phone for emergency purposes. You can down load routes that other people ride and post on Map My Ride.

Google maps!

I leave my phone at home. Maybe take it in a pannier bag in case of emergency.

Probably not an app you need but something like a Garmin Freerunner where you can plan a route on Google Earth and transfer it to the device. Don't expect spoken directions though.
Tomtom, who seem to know about cycle routes I think do an iphone app, but battery life might be a problem
