Help on posting a cable/wire (royal mail)?
Hello I'm thinking about selling iPhone/iPad charging cables (just the syncing wire). I was just wondering that when i post these to the buyers, can I post them in a second class letter (50p). Or would i have to use second class big letter (69p), OR would i have to use small parcel (£2.50). I would like to minimise my cost but at the same time get the cables to the buyers within 7 days so they're happy. Thanks.
Added (1). the wires are one metre long
I would wind them up and put them in a padded envelope and send it as a small parcel. Or put them in a large envelope and send them as second class big letter.
Best to get a padded envelope and get it weighed at post office. Do not need to send registered delivery just get proof of posting free
If you send them via second class and they get lost your buyer will want a refund and he will leave you negative feedback.
Best to send it via Tracked delivery even though that is expensive. EBay have now changed their policies and they support the buyers (even if they lie) 100%. So you better cover yourself if you want to sell on ebay because otherwise you will end up with huge losses.
The issue is likely to be the thickness of the package - anything more than 5mm thick has to go as a large letter. It should go as a letter, but you might want to use one of the signed for services so that you have a check on whether it arrived or not.
- Saturday royal mail delivery? I ordered an iPhone yesterday (Thursday) and it said delivery took 48 hours I have just checked my emails and got a confirmed dispatch note that said, "Congratulations, your brand new mobile phone package will be despatched this evening by Royal Mail Special delivery, who will deliver the next working day # to the following address" Will it come tomorrow in the mail or Will it be Monday?
- Problem with Royal Mail tracking number? I bought a phone after selling my iphone and the seller is a 'true' seller. He's sold 10, 000+ items and he sent the item via Special before 1pm next day guaranteed, when i tracked it earlier it said it was in their network and on time for tomorrow, now it's saying 'There's no data available for this tracking reference, please try again later'
- Posting something using Royal Mail? I may sound stupid but I'm sending a small package (iPhone charger) to a friend of mine who lives in Manchester (I'm in London) I've put a 2nd class stamping on the package do I have to go in to a Royal Mail or can I just put it in a Royal Mail post box?
- How much will it cost me to return an Amazon item with Royal Mail? Basically, I bought a BlackBerry case for a friend of mine for Christmas but he bought an iPhone so I no longer need it. I have printed everything off and it is in the original packaging. I'm just wondering how much it will cost to return it. Also, can I put a stamp on it so I can just post it via a post box?
