Wait for the google conference they will unveil their phone " progect ara ", the conference is in 15/16 april, go into youtube and look for " project ara ", you won't regret it.

I would wait for the iPhone 6. Apple is expected to release two new iPhones this year. One will be the iPhone 6 and the other will be a phablet. There are rumors that these phones will be expected to be released separately. So far, it looks like the phablet may be released sometime in May, while the iPhone 6 is expected to be released late summer.
P.S. No one really knows for sure when the iPhones are going to be released. These are just my educated guesses based off of Apple's activities.
It's better if… You want the newest iPhone and are able to wait for it. Apple hasn't released a totally new generation of iPhone before the end of the summer since 2010 when the iPhone 4 came out. The 4s, 5 and 5s/5c came out at the end of the summer or early fall. If you must have the newest phone, can you wait the 6 months?
Whether doing something is a good idea depends on what matters to you… And your question says nothing about that.
