High School Story Won't Load?

I have the app High School Story on my phone and it won't load. I'm on level 10 and when I try to load the game it comes up with this message:
"Whoops! There was a problem downloading the required content to play the current game. Make sure you have network connectivity before continuing."
What does this mean? I'm connected to my Wi-Fi and have a really good connection.
I have logged onto game centre to see if that helps in any way and it didn't, I have restarted my phone several times to see if that did anything and the message still pops up. I also have loaded up the app with no other apps open. Is there anyway to get it to work? I don't want to reinstall the game as I will lose all my progress and will have to start from the very beginning but I don't want to do that.

If this helps in anyway, I have an Iphone 4 (IOS 7)

I'm having the same problem right now and I'm not sure how to fix it I'm going to try to back up my phone and delete the app I guess >

My hss just goes black and sends me back to home screen when I try to go to it

I didn't want to wait that long so I tried reinstalling the app. I heard that I could do that without loosing my progress, but I think I did. I didn't have it connected to Facebook or Game Center.
