Hot spots that don't require a power source, ethernet, or contract?

I'm going out of town next week, and the place I'm going to has no Wi-Fi. My iPhone's service will be shut off, so i can't use iMessage or internet without having Wi-Fi. I'm thinking about buying a hotspot. I'm not sure if the place that I'm staying at has a ethernet plug for cables. I just want a hotspot so i can use my iMessage, internet, and social apps.
A) do i need to have an ethernet cable?
b) do i need to have a power source while using it? Ex: if I'm at a lake with no power sources
c) do i need a contract?

so pretty much i just need a hotspot that doesn't require a power source when using ( i can charge when I'm at hotel), i need one that does not require ethernet, and one that doesn't require a contract. Do any of those exist? If so, what brand makes them and what is the name of it?

You will need either a land line ISP connection, a cellular network connection or a satellite connection. With a cellular network connection you can have a Pay-As-You-Go service, the other two options will require a contract. Why will the iPhone service be shut off? Cellular Internet connection to the iPhone and using its hotspot would probably be the cheapest option.

You will need some sort of power source for whatever device you have. There are some very good equipment rechargers that have large battery capacity and recharge devices several times before the charger needs recharging itself.

The Ethernet cable will probably not be required if you have nowhere to connect it to.
