How am i suppose to find my iphone?
So supposedly " find my iphone " is suppose to be the best way to track your iphone and find it. When its really not. So say it say your phone "offline" because it has no Wi-Fi… Then what we suppose to do? Nothing. So i'm confused. So anyway I lost my phone today at school. The battery not dead but I know in some spots of the school you get no service. (and btw I know somebody got it because they had to go thru my locker and look through my stuff) I just really wanna find my phone.new phone for the year and everything and I don't have the money to pay like $180 to get it back… So what do I do? Is there anything I can do or no?
As long as your phone is not totally off, and it can connect either to Wi-Fi or to the cell network, then Find my iPhone should work.
But if it says your phone is offline, that means one of the following:
- It's turned off or has a dead battery
- It's out of range of the cell network (no service)
- It's out of range of Wi-Fi (or it's not connected to Wi-Fi)
And any of the above means that Find my iPhone isn't going to work.
The Find My iPhone feature does not have to be connected to Wi-Fi to work, it can also be connected to your cellular provider and be tracked.
If the phone is turned on, you can track it. If it is off, or if they deleted the Find My iPhone app then you are in trouble (but you can prevent the app from being deleted with iOS7).
Who would have had access to your locker? Start there. It has to be limited how many people had access.
Call it from another phone and/or send your phone a text trying to persuade whoever may have it to return it.
Life is so much harder when you're stupid. I feel for you
