How to connect this monitor to my laptop?
I have an HP Pavilion dv6000 with a messed up screen. Can't see sh! T. The only reason I still use the hp is cause that's what my iPhone is connected on and all of my music is on that. I have a laptop I bought for school (Compaq Presario CQ62) and I also have monitor cable from one of those old dell desktop computers. Is there a way I can use my Presario screen as a monitor for my HP?
There should be a port on the side of the computer it looks like this (
) its going to be closest to the back on your computer, now the monitor should have a cord with a blue end that connects right too it. Just plug it in then walaaa: D
Charllie has no idea what he is writing about. Laptop VGA ports are OUT ONLY. Repeat--OUT. Not IN. So the link by VGA cable between a desktop or laptop and a laptop WILL NOT WORK.
You can use a laptop's screen on another computer with an ethernet cable and MaxiVista software. Or you could use a LAN connection and ZoneScreen software. But I believe both will have to be set up when you can see the software activation on both systems IN ADVANCE of using it. Would not be possible if you can't see the HP dv6000 system's screen.
You can use a regular desktop monitor on a laptop that has no active screen. THEN the VGA port on a laptop will work.
You can take out the broken laptop's hard disk and put it in a 2.5 inch external hard disk enclosure and use a USB cable to make it the second hard disk to a laptop. Then you can copy over files.

One laptop can connect to it (the one I'm currently on) but no other devices can connect to it. It says our "Network Security Key" is mismatched. I have tried typing in all the different codes on both the router and modem on both our second laptop and an iPhone 5. How can I fix this?
- My Wi-Fi won't connect on my laptop but will connect to my other devices (an iPhone and iPad)? I have a MacBook Air. Sometimes it does connect but other times it just won't.
