How can I get Sprint to unlock an iPhone I bought used?
I've never been a sprint customer. They ask for the 10 digit sprint phone number
You can't. You have to have the phone number and/or account PIN.
Without it, you can't do anything.

My understanding when my daughter gave me her old iPhone 4S that was locked to Sprint is that Sprint will only unlock the phone if it is going to be used outside the country. I live in Canada. Of you have to sign up with Sprint to use it. Myself, in the 10 years I lived in California I was quite happy with the service from Sprint.
