How come my Bluetooth isn't working on a Bluetooth speaker?

Alright so my friend has this bluetooth soeaker that your supposed to be able to use with a Bluetooth device such as a iPhone but for whatever reason it is not working. But his phone says the speaker is not turned on or in reach.

You've explained the problem but completely failed to supply any useful details.

We don't know the make and model of the Bluetooth speaker, the make, model and exact OS of the phone you're trying to use with it, and we don't know what you've done to try and pair the devices together via BT. We certainly don't know whether you've followed the user instructions supplied with the speaker.

But in general you need to press and hold whichever button on the speaker puts it into pairing mode and then release the button. Typically an LED illuminates and stays on to indicate pairing mode. You then go into BT on the phone and get it to search for nearby devices. Depending on the make and model of BT speaker you may have to enter a pairing code, typically 1111 or 0000. Things which can prevent it happening are if the phone or the device already has an active pairing connection with something else.
