How come my iphone 5 became locked to the first sim i put in?
How come my iphone 5 became locked to the first sim i put in? Purchased from the apple store in canada i put a fido sim card in and it became locked to it and does not read any other sims? I thought when you buy iphones from apple store they are unlocked to all companies and carriers?

The only reason I can think of is that a 'batch' scheduled for a NON Apple store got delivered to Apple.
Even though you can get it exchanged, off the top of my head will the store know what is an UNLOCKED phone, from a locked first simcard iPhone
- When switching my sim to an iphone do I have to wait for the sim to shut off first? I'm transferring my number from a normal sim to a micro sim for my new iphone. I did what they told me to do in the shop and now i'm to wait for my original sim to lose signal before i can put the new one into the iphone.
