How come my iPhone 5 speech to text isn't working?

Added (1). So I have an iPhone 5, and Siri, nor speech to text is working. I really only care about the speech to text, but I'm sure Siri not working will be relevant. Both are turned on in the settings, and my microphone works when doing anything else. Not sure what It could be. Please don't tell me to restart my phone, as I already have 100x

I don't know. My iPhone 5S is working correctly, so it's definitely your phone. Maybe you missed some updates. I know when I don't update my phone, things start to not work.

  • Why isn't my text tone working on my iPhone 4s? It's a brand new phone. The volume is all the way up and all of my other tones work fine. In the settings, it indicates that it will both play the tone and vibrate when I get a text. It does neither.
  • Text to speech app via iPhone camera? In the new IOS 7 for the iPhone I realized that when you redeem a gift card, there's an option to scan the code instead of typing it in. Then I got the thought that there could be an app that scans an article, puts the text on your phone, and then could read it aloud. I was just wondering if there was any such app like this. If not it would be a cool idea. If anybody knows, do tell.
  • Text to speech and speech to text? I'm looking for the cheapest way to intelligently read text.txt to speech that is not annoying or error ridden, and alternately speak into a mic. And have text pop out. I would prefer a Device* like some iphone accesory suite, a portable device of some type that is fairly cheap… Uses a usb or something to bring files in and out… Its a gift for Christmas… Anyone know?
  • Software for turning Speech into Text? Recorded an interview on iPhone, I need to transcribe it into text. Is there any software that will do this for me on PC that is FREE?
