How come the Iphone 5C went from $99 to $599?

Apple realized how stupid they were to sell an iphone for 99 dollars
They didn't raise the price. It just depends on where you buy the iPhone.
If you buy the iPhone 5c alone, it's $599.
If you buy it on Verizon WITH a 2 year contract plan, it's $99 but you have to pay $30 a month for data.

- Screen of my IPhone went black and now it won't turn on, what is wrong? The screen on my IPhone 4 went black and now it won't turn back on. It didn't get wet or anything Please Help! It was fully charged when this happened AND when I plug in it will not even light up.
- Smashed my iphone and it went crazy? Ok so i threw my iphone 4s on the ground and it shattered on the front and back but it still turns on, but both cameras won't work and when i try to take a picture its just black, also the sound won't work and whenever i use it the front top right hand corner goes really hot, aswell as the whole steel edge thing and the back top middle if that makes sense. - My iPhone went blank and won't turn on It went dead and I charged it for about ten minutes and the low battery sign was showing, then it went blank and now it won't show the charging sign and it won't turn on. It's been on the charger for 30 minutes now and nothing has happened. I even held down both the lock button and the home button for 15 seconds and nothing happened, now I'm panicking.
