How to find out if my iphone 4 is 4g?
've recently bought a green glass replacement for the back and the front on ebay. The title of the product was " iPhone 4 green screen replacement for iPhone 4 4g ". Now the problem is i don't know if my iPhone 4 is 4g and i don't even know what it means. Does it mean GB. My phone is 8 GB but i don't know if its 4g and i don't what that means and i don't know where to find it on my iPhone 4. My question is What does 4g mean, how do i know if my phone is 4g where can i find it on my phone and did i make the right desicion to buy the product?
Added (1). By what i said of "did i make the right desision to buy this product " i was talking about the green screen replacemnt for the iphone 4 not the actuall phone. Will the green screen replacement fit my iphone 4 8 gb
Let me start by saying that I agree with you. I think that AT&T is confusing customers by calling the iPhone 4S a 4G phone. The device runs on AT&T's HSPA+ network, which is merely an upgrade to its traditional 3G network. That said, AT&T's claim that the iPhone 4S uses technology that is three times faster than its traditional 3G network, is true.
But it's still way slower than the 4G LTE network that the new iPad uses. It's also considerably slower than even more advanced versions of HSPA+. The iPhone 4S supports 14.4 Mbps HSPA+. Meanwhile, there are two faster versions of HSPA+ that offer theoretical network download speeds of 21 Mbps and 42 Mbps.
In other words, the iPhone 4S offers a slight speed boost over the iPhone 4 and other 3G devices. But I wouldn't say it's significant enough to put it in the same class as devices operating on a 4G LTE network or even devices operating on the newest and fastest versions of HSPA+.
But is AT&T's 4G claim for the iPhone 4S deceptive in the legal sense? Not really. The short answer to your question is that 4G is merely a marketing term. It's like calling Vitamin Water a health food. Marketers are allowed to call it whatever they want, but the truth is that Vitamin Water is full of sugar, which isn't all that healthy. And AT&T's HSPA+ version of 4G is also not what I or most other experts would consider true 4G.
I think it's unfortunate that AT&T has chosen to market the iPhone 4S in this way, since it's confusing for consumers. And it will likely only get more confusing as AT&T rolls out its 4G LTE network. This is the technology currently supported in the new iPad. And it's likely to be supported in the next version of the iPhone.
The iphone 4 doesn't have 4g capabilities, well atleast not in the uk, check the connection settings, or use the internet on it without being connected to a router and then it will tell you at thetop if its 3g or 4g
4G has nothing to do with the memory but rather the data. 4G means fourth generation data like for example there's 1G, 2G, 3G, and 4G, the higher the generation the faster the phone's data network will be. However, the higher the data network the more battery your phone will use. None of the iPhones released to the public is 4G but rumors have it that the next iPhone model coming out this fall will have 4G data speeds.
4G, or LTE as it's also known, is a calling system that carries data faster than others, such as 3G or EDGE. In short, the iPhone 4 doesn't support it, and most places don't even have 4G coverage currently. Apple don't make 4GB iPhones so it isn't referring to memory either. My guess is that it's the weight of the green glass replacement, so 4g=4 grams. It has nothing to do with your phone. Hope this helped.
Iphone 4s got 8megapixel while 4g got 5megapixel, there's more stripes on iphone 4s, there's stripes on the upper side of the iphone 4s, while on iphone 4 there are only 2 strips on the lower side of the body.
4g means 4th generation data speed. I phone 4 is NOT a true 4g phone but it does get 4g low end speeds because of how they process data. If a phone is a true 4g phone AND if you are in a 4g coverage area, you should see a 4g icon on your phone display. I'm a agent for ATT so you know who is telling you this.
