How do I make life miserable for the person who stole my phone?

I recently sold an iphone on ebay and used paypal for receiving the funds. The buyer initiated the funds transfer to me, and I incorrectly assumed that "pending" was the same as a "hold," so I mailed the phone. Several days after the phone was delivered, the payment was "cancelled" by the buyer. Paypal has offered me no concessions and I'm out of a phone and the payment. I know the IMEI for the phone and technically I still own it. I had already signed out of the icloud account. I would like to make life miserable for the person who stole the phone, and I'm open to ideas for how to do this.

You sent the phone -> he didn't steal it

Its not stolen, you voluntarily parted with it before confirming receipt of funds… Sorry, different issue.

Anyhow, did you wipe the phone of all data? You do know that the person can probably access EVERYTHING on your phone if they know what they are doing… Right?

If the person is smart, they've already sent your phone abroad and there isn't much you can do at this point, especially if you think signing out of the iCloud protects you in any way…

Don't assume he stole it. Message the buyer and ask if he cancelled & why. And, follow eBay's dispute resolution. Taking the law into your own hands will not get your money back and it will probably get you in trouble, possibly, legal trouble. Did you really expect Paypal to comply with your demands when you failed to follow the proper procedure? In fact, you might have irritated them and scr*wed your chances this time. If you want to make the seller miserable, first, make sure he cancelled and that it was not an error on Paypal's part.
