How to restore my iPhone 4 without iTunes?
I don't have my own computer and my friend won't let me install iTunes on his. I have a back up on iCloud, but how do I restore it without iTunes? I'm running iOS 5.1.1 on my iPhone 4 btw
The simple answer is that you can't. Apple has set this up as a closed system to force you to buy and use their product only.
You must have other friends that have iTunes on their computer.

Dvoraak - pay attention next time before you thumbs-down someone.
Of course you can restore without iTunes.

and there you'll find all the reset options.
Sorry for misunderstanding the question. Not sure what the answer is since I've never quite figured out the cloud service. The new back up interface is the least intuitive thing Apple has done in a long time. I know I would never allow anyone else's device to connect with my iTunes. The way it assigns libraries is a nightmare. I wouldn't chance it getting devices confused.
@peapers… Not sure I did give you a thumbs down. Does that ruin your day? If I cared about thumbs I'd never answer an iPhone question. Too many Fandroids that are quick on the thumbs down.

I just gave you a thumbs up. It shouldn't have allowed it if I was the thumbs down.
- When you restore an iphone from itunes backup does it restore messages? I need to restore my iPhone 4S in iTunes, will I lose my messages or will it leave the messages from my most recent back up?

- If I restore my iPhone I'll have to get iOS 8.4 I don't want it. But I need to restore my iphone? Okay if I restore my iPhone I'll get iOS 8.4 which I do not want. So if I restore it and iOS 8.4 is now on my phone, will I be able to downgrade to iOS 8.3? But I need accurate answers. Because if I don't this and I can't downgrade then it'll suck!
