How to unlock my iphone 3 so I can put my Telus Sim Card in a Rogers phone?

Jailbreak it first with redsnow and unlock it with ultrasnow, check the guide on youtube, it is free to unlock.

Will a Rogers SIM card work with a Fido iPhone 4? I'm about to buy it from a friend at work. I called Rogers and the guy said my friend will have to go to Fido and unlock it for $50 bucks. Is this true?
Where should I get iPhone 6s? Rogers? Bell? Telus? Apple? I've been researching their deals online but they are so similar. I'm currently with Rogers and my contract has ended already, so if all deals are similar, I should just stay with Rogers, right? Another way I'm thinking is buy it in full from Apple then choose a different service. Maybe Wind for its unlimited data? Please advice.
