How to upload pictures from my IPhone to my computer?

I have some pictures on my IPhone 3Gs that I would like to e-mail to a friend. I do not have a data plan so I can't e-mail them straight from my phone. My computer is a Samsung something (i'm really bad with computers). When I plug my phone in all that happens is itunes comes up. Nothing saying that they found a new___ or something. I've looked through all my files and there's nothing saying IPhone. What do I do!

If you open up MyComputer it should come up if you have it plugged in.
I thought IPhones were only carried through AT&T and Verizon, both plans require a data package with a smartphone.

You need an iphone USB connector, which should have come with your iphone in the first place. You can also get them separately at Apple stores. Simply plug the USB connector cable into the computer and your phone, then when wait a few minuets, go to ''my computer'' and there you should see an icon that has a picture of an iphone on it that says something like ''(Your name)'s iphone'' (e.g mine says Sarah's iphone). Right click on it and select ''import pictures and videos'' then it will import automatically. You'll then be able to find your photos in the pictures section of your ''my library''.
