How do you turn internet off on a Iphone 5?

Go into the settings and turn on "Airplane Mode"

To turn off Wi-Fi just go into settings and then Wi-Fi and flick the blue on button to off and to turn off cellular network go to settings, general, cellular and turn off cellular data

@Mally - While that *would* work, it turns off *all* communications to the iPhone. Wi-Fi, Data, and sadly the phone and text functions as well.

Would actually turn it into an iPod for all the functionality it would have.

1. From the Home screen, tap Settings
2. Tap General
3. Tap Mobile Data
4. Turn Data Roaming Off or On as required

That only turns off the ability to surf the web. It keeps using data for the GPS so you need to also turn that off to totally shut it down

Once that is done your phone will only allow phone, SMS and Wi-Fi use.

That is how I set my phone when traveling out of the country to keep the cost down.

If you turn on airplane mode it shuts everything off except things residing on your phone like music and pictures or games you don't need Internet for.

You'll have to use Wi-Fi to get on the Internet or use FaceTime. This is the only way I've found to turn off 3G.

Settings > Wi-Fi > OFF
